Two metals, two completely different marks
Titanium oxidises. The beam grows a dark, dense layer straight out of the metal, which holds fine detail without the halo you get on coated surfaces and carries enough contrast for a full illustration at wallet scale — individual feathers on an eagle, the stripes of a flag, the flow lines of a river.
Anodized aluminum ablates. The laser removes the coloured anodizing and exposes bright metal underneath, which gives a hard white-on-dark image with no midtones at all. A photograph has to be converted to a halftone — thousands of dots of varying size — before it will read as a picture, and getting that conversion right takes test passes on scrap. It is the most demanding work we do and it carries the longest lead time in the catalogue.
Named runs for corporate gifting
The money clip is the part the owner sees a dozen times a day, so on a corporate run that is where the recipient’s name goes, with one or two company marks beneath it and artwork on the plate. Send a spreadsheet and each wallet is engraved, boxed and labeled to its recipient with no per-name surcharge under a hundred pieces.
